- The beauty of this feature is there is no need to provide an IPSW or push new iFaith updates just to save the latest SHSH blobs from Apple just like the TinyUmbrella days. (Send some love to @icj and @iNeal for their lovely APIs powering this new ability in iFaith). Mac Version?!: I'm working with @Djayb6 on getting iFaith fully ported to.

Saving iFaith firmware signatures (Mac) Connect Apple TV via USB; Launch Seas0nPass; Click the 'Help' menu and select the 'Dump iFaith Device blob. Jul 25, 2014 Earlier this month, famed jailbreak hacker iH8sn0w has released iFaith 1.4 which enabled users to save SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5 making it possible to downgrade to the said firmware in the future. IFaith 1.4 also saves your device's APTickets as well which is a new check performed by Apple to ensure that everyone is on the latest.
iFaith, codenamed Project iF, is now available for download. iFaith can save SHSH blobs for any old iOS firmware currently installed on iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. You can download iFaith SHSH blobs dumping tool for Windows and Mac from below.
What is an SHSH blob?
An SHSH is a secure signature hash. It’s used to verify the iOS version you’re running. Without these signatures you might not be able to downgrade to an older firmware. Basically its a unique key for each device. To avoid a lengthy discussion, you need to Save SHSH blobs.
What is iFaith?
You can save SHSH blobs for the latest firmware only, because Apple stop signing older firmware as soon as a newer one is out. Tools like TinyUmbrella and Cydia are already good at saving latest firmware SHSH blobs. iFaith, however, is the first application that can save SHSH blobs of an older firmware/iOS *currently installed on your idevice* and creates a pre-signed IPSW.
Programs like TinyUmbrella and Cydia are able to store SHSH blobs but are limited in capabilities. These programs do not allow physical retrieval of SHSH blobs and they only can retrieve SHSH blobs that are currently signed by Apple. For this reason, the SHSH blobs are on a time constraint.

Finally the wait is over, iH8Sn0w has released iREB for Mac OS X 10.4+. iREB for Windows has been around since ages to fix iTunes errors that you encounter while restoring a custom firmware on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. But Mac users had no iREB support to date.
For those unfamiliar, iREB is a GUI application created by iH8sn0w, the guy who created Sn0wbreeze and iFaith. When you try to restore a custom firmware via iTunes, it will throw you different error and won’t allow you to restore any modified iOS on your device. This is where iREB comes in handy. It puts your device into pwned DFU mode to let you restore custom firmware IPSW files without returning any iTunes error such as “iTunes error 1600”.
